Sailing Trip To The Barefoot Bar

Yesterday Patrick and I took a trip to the Barefoot bar located on an island in Mission Bay. A rented a 16.5 foot boat and sailed to the island. We had a mai tai then headed home and saw some pelicans chilling on the bridge. Fun times!

Fuel Efficiency 1983 Style

The gas gauge on the Jeep hasn't been working too well for awhile so I've been keeping track of the mileage in an attempt to find out how far I can drive until I run out of gas. Yesterday I went to the gas station, filled up, checked the mileage and determined the Jeep is getting 9.3 miles per gallon. So much for fuel economy. I will admit I rarely drive it on the freeway so stop and go driving contributes to the low MPG.....but being 30 years old and having the aerodynamics of a brick doesn't help :)

Oh by the way....I filled up the tank and now the gas gauge says "full". Last time I filled up the gauge didn't leave "empty". Go figure!

Last week we posted a photo of our new plants in the backyard but the lighting wasn't optimal. See below for a couple of better shots. It's ready tough to take photos because the area is really shady but I think you get the idea. Michelle added some seashells for decoration. Nice!

We decided to stick some plants in the corner where the grass never grew. Now the backyard is finished.....until we come up with something new....

Santa Anas Are Back

it's been a while since I posted anything on this blog. I have been working like crazy for the last 3 weeks. today I woke up and the winds were perfect for surfing. I decided to drive down to Imperial Beach for a surf. it was good down there and the weather was awesome. I surfed my friend Patricks fish. probably going to go down there tomorrow. Nice and peaky.
