Remember how I took the ham radio license test last week? Well I passed the test and was issued a radio call sign by the FCC! I've been thinking of doing this for at least 10 years and now KJ6MWX belongs to me! So you can call Kilo - Juliette - Six - Mike - Whiskey - X-Ray! Emailing me would work better though since I don't own a radio :)

Hello Shorty

Shorty is a black cat that lives next door. Shorty and Jack are best friends. Basically they play together, eat together, hang out... Shorty gets his name from his short tail. He does not like humans but he loves Jack.

Ford On Steroids...

I found a couple different Fords converted for use with brush fires in Colorado. Sort of like my pickup on steroids...

Scott toilet paper, fertilizer, goggles...and now trucks!

Below is a photo of a Scot 4x4 truck built for a powerline company. Scot is a truck manufacture in Canada. You never know when you need something manufactured by a company you share a name with. Probably gets the same MPG as the orange jeep.

The truck below is another Scot used by a company called Irving. Nice..

Taking The Exam

I'm sitting in the North Park Rec. Center waiting to hear if I passed the exam. Wasn't sure if I was at the right place until I saw this truck out front. That's a big 10-4!

Placement & Appeals

I'm sitting in day two of my placement and appeals hearings and found a poster of a "kitchen" on the wall. The photo below is of a mural on the kitchen wall...thought of michelle.

Getting Things Done!

My Dad is famous for getting things done. He finds out what the problem is, creates a solution, and implements it. Dad was recently in the newspaper for participating in a community clean-up. The photo below was borrowed from a website in my Mom and Dad's community.

Recently my Dad helped troubleshoot an electrical problem in the Jeep. I sent him some ideas and he quickly emailed me back a schematic diagram for use in troubleshooting. I'm going to work on this during the next couple of days. Thanks Dad!

Enjoy Our Visit

Today I took a few minutes to visit an old friend of mine at Point Loma High School. I've known her since she was a student at Dana Middle. She made an impression on me because of her intelligence and leadership skills. She is smart, confident, and has tons of potential! We traded reggae CD's and chatted about life.

I enjoyed visiting with her and wish her the best of luck in high school!

New Blooms

Our flowers in the front yard are blooming. I took this photo last week before my dental implant work was done. Today is pretty...but a little windy.

I'm Staying In Tonight...

Turns out you can listen to police scanners online. Basically that means you can hear whats going on around your neighborhood.....which can be a little uneasy depending upon where you live. San Diego can get lively especially on a Saturday night. In order to do this you'll need multiple browsers open with the following:

• San Diego Police Department general dispatch channel
• SDPD radio codes (this way when someone calls in a 211 then you'll know they are talking about armed robbery
• SDPD division codes (so you'll know what part of town they are in)
• Google Maps w/street view (so you can see where things are going down)
